Yes!
A meta-analysis examining 33 studies with 883,000 participants examining mortality trends for seniors over the course of 20 years found that participants who completed Resistance training with 90-119
minutes/week had a 13% lower risk of all-cause, 19% lower
cardiovascular, and 27% lower neurological disease mortality, with no
additional benefit observed for more than 120 minutes/week.
What does this mean? When over the age of 54 working out for 100 minutes a week (20 mins a day for 5 days a week), your likelihood of death decreases substantially! And surprisingly, there was no difference in mortality if you trained for more time in the week.
